17 events from Europe and US have been elected by the Pro Freeriders Board (PFB) to be part of the FWQ.

Four of the FWQ events are "sister events" for the Freeride World Tour (FWT) events. The winners of sister event are automatically qualified for the upcoming FWT contest.

The FWQ events give points to:

1. Any rider willing to qualify for the FWT
2. FWT riders willing to score points in order to remain within the FWT

1. They use the same judging method as the FWT
2. They have reached a high quality level in terms of organization, communication, competition format, competition site, security and hospitality for the riders and benefit from the experience of the FWT and its advisor.
